The Festival in its present form was constituted on 2 November 2001 with the following objectives:

“to promote, maintain, improve and advance education by the encouragement of the arts and to formulate, prepare and establish schemes therefore, in particular, but not solely, an annual festival of the arts in and around the town of Sevenoaks”.

Sevenoaks Festival aim to showcase the breadth and diversity of local arts activities, augmented by professional events, continuing a tradition begun by Sevenoaks School in 1970.
